               VISIONS OF THE FUTURE

       POSSIBLE? PROBABLE? CERTAIN?

A lot of things might happen in the future. Just like science-fiction, let's try to imagine what the world will be like in hundreds or thousands of years...

POSSIBILITY: "possibly", "probably", "it may..." or "maybe".

CERTAINTY: "surely", "without a doubt", "it will..." or "it won't".

When you're done...

...continue on and imagine things which will/won't/may happen in the future...

GLOBAL WARMING
LIFE IN SPACE

MARS COLONISATION

ROBOTS

TOXIC WASTE / POLLUTION

ENDANGERED SPECIES

                         GREENPEACE

Greenpeace is a non-governmental environmental organization with offices in over forty countries. Greenpeace states its goal is to "ensure the ability of the Earth to nurture life in all its diversity" and focuses its campaigning on world wide issues such as global warming, deforestation, overfishing, commercial whaling and anti-nuclear issues

        CREATE A FUTURISTIC DIALOGUE

In this video Korben is having breakfast. He is talking with his friend the caterer about something you will have to imagine yourself. Think of all the things we talked about in class (global warming, robots, endangered species, space colonies...) and create the dialogue.

           A NOVEL ABOUT THE FUTURE

We read an extract from this novel in class. This was the beginning of chapter 2.

                              EXTRA

Given the fact that we talked a lot about TV ads, campaigns and posters, here is a link to a 16-minute animation movie called "LOGORAMA". It was directed by three french men, François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy et Ludovic Houplain.

"Welcome to the future class."
